ME 203 (Stanford Masters Course), Spring 2017
I designed a set of four sand cast Aluminum measuring spoons. The forms are reminiscent of shovels to remind us that food comes from soil. They are highly ergonomic and accurate within 8% of the measuring volume.
I hand-carved the Modulan patterns using custom jigs and manufacturing aids made from the 3D CAD model to achieve the correct internal volume and outer form. I cast the spoons in the Product Realization Lab Foundry and hand-sanded and polished them.
